Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of a tree by John Sell Cotman was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction at Christies in London in July last year. The price achieved of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 6,018.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Sell Cotman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In the Grampians, a drover with his dog and cattle beyond in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 132,506.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study of a tree von John Sell Cotman wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 bei Christies in London versteigert.
