Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Scott could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Dark Trees changed hands for GBP 180.00 (€ 262.15) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Patrician and other shipping off Tynemouth Harbor in July 2002 with an auction result of USD 21,510.00 (€ 21,957.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Scott konnte im März 2005 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Dark Trees für GBP 180,00 (€ 262,15) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Scott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Patrician and other shipping off Tynemouth Harbor im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.510,00 (€ 21.957,94).
