Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Coming to the rescue by John Salmon was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2003. The price achieved of GBP 258.50 (€ 337.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Salmon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Fishing Fleet In Harbour On The Northumberland Coast, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 705.00 (€ 1,121.88).
