A top price for John Mosquito Tjapangarti - as previously expected
The work Pundu by John Mosquito Tjapangarti was sold in the Aboriginal Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. It changed hands for a price of AUD 7,800.00 (€ 4,416.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Pundu is the most expensive artwork by John Mosquito Tjapangarti that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Pundu von John Mosquito Tjapangarti wurde im Juli 2009 in der Auktion Aboriginal Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 7.800,00 (€ 4.416,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Pundu das teuerste Kunstwerk von John Mosquito Tjapangarti, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
