Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Repos au bord de la mer by John Lewis Brown was auctioned at Christies in Paris in June 2003. The price achieved of EUR 1,175.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Lewis Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Couple À Cheval Chassant Au Faucon in June 2010 with an auction result of EUR 14,281.00.
