Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, which included the work Horses in a stable by John Lewis Brown. It changed hands for a price of USD 4,541.00 (€ 3,646.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Lewis Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Couple À Cheval Chassant Au Faucon, which sold at auction in June 2010 for EUR 14,281.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Horses in a stable von John Lewis Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 4.541,00 (€ 3.646,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Lewis Brown mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Couple À Cheval Chassant Au Faucon beobachtet, die im Juni 2010 für EUR 14.281,00 versteigert wurde.
