A top price for John Kipara Tjakamarra
In July 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included the work Old Man'S Story by John Kipara Tjakamarra. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 16,800.00 (€ 9,511.52), 40% above the upper estimate. With this result, Old Man'S Story is even the most expensive work of art by John Kipara Tjakamarra that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juli 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Aboriginal Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old Man'S Story von John Kipara Tjakamarra zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 16.800,00 (€ 9.511,52) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Old Man'S Story sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von John Kipara Tjakamarra, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
