In July 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included the work Old Man'S Story by John Kipara Tjakamarra. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 16,800.00 (€ 9,511.52), 40% above the upper estimate. With this result, Old Man'S Story is even the most expensive work of art by John Kipara Tjakamarra that we have observed at auctions so far.
