This work of art by John James Masquerier could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Pictures auction, the work Portrait of a young boy, three-quarter-length, in school uniform, holding a black hat in his left hand, in a landscape changed hands for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,590.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by John James Masquerier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Maria Vicenta Solís Lasso De La Vega, Duchess Of Fernán-Nuñez (B. 1780), Full-Length, Reclining On A Chaise Longue in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,365.11).
