Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work A watermill by a river by John Hervey Oswald. The price achieved of GBP 117.50 (€ 184.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25.00 – 200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Hervey Oswald - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Fresh Breeze Off Beachy Head, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 300.00 (€ 444.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A watermill by a river von John Hervey Oswald zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 117,50 (€ 184,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25,00 – 200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Hervey Oswald mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Fresh Breeze Off Beachy Head beobachtet, die im Juni 2005 für GBP 300,00 (€ 444,62) versteigert wurde.
