In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction Maritime and Naval Battles, which included the work The Erna Boldt steaming up the Channel by John Henry Mohrmann. The price achieved of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Other works by John Henry Mohrmann have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2004 the work The British-registered steamer Anglo-Indian outward bound for Argentina was auctioned for USD 8,365.00 (€ 6,723.74).
