Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Art, which included the work 'Father, mither and awe' by John Henry Henshall. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,736.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Henry Henshall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thoughts in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 21,510.00 (€ 30,942.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Father, mither and awe' von John Henry Henshall zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.736,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Henry Henshall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Thoughts im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.510,00 (€ 30.942,02).
