In November 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Sporting And Wildlife Art Including The Collection Of Doug And Ellen Miller, which included the work Three Setters with Game at the Edge of a Wood by John Gifford. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,531.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Gifford have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Day's Bag in January 2002 with an auction result of USD 35,250.00 (€ 41,016.99).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.531,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
