Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two Friends by John Ford Clymer was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 81,250.00 (€ 69,760.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ford Clymer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Attack in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 879,100.00 (€ 718,806.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two Friends von John Ford Clymer kam im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 69.760,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Ford Clymer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Attack im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 879.100,00 (€ 718.806,21).
