Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, Part II, which included the work Crossing the Ridge by John Ford Clymer. The price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 42,919.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ford Clymer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Attack in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 879,100.00 (€ 718,806.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Crossing the Ridge von John Ford Clymer zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 42.919,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Ford Clymer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Attack im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 879.100,00 (€ 718.806,21).
