Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Dust by John Ford Clymer was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 175,000.00 (€ 150,253.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Ford Clymer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Attack in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 879,100.00 (€ 718,806.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Red Dust von John Ford Clymer kam im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 150.253,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Ford Clymer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Attack im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 879.100,00 (€ 718.806,21).
