Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Christies in New York held the auction The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection, which included the work Grand Parade–Green River Rendezvous 1836 by John Ford Clymer. The price achieved of USD 400,000.00 (€ 343,436.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Ford Clymer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Attack, which sold at auction in December 2020 for USD 879,100.00 (€ 718,806.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grand Parade–Green River Rendezvous 1836 von John Ford Clymer zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 400.000,00 (€ 343.436,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Ford Clymer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Attack beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für USD 879.100,00 (€ 718.806,21) versteigert wurde.
