The work When Evening Comes by John Ford Clymer was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 100,800.00 (€ 83,065.51). Admittedly, works by John Ford Clymer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Attack in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 879,100.00 (€ 718,806.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit When Evening Comes von John Ford Clymer kam im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 100.800,00 (€ 83.065,51) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Ford Clymer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Attack im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 879.100,00 (€ 718.806,21).
