In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Orientalist and Spanish Art, which included the work Army reorganisation in Morocco by John Evan Hodgson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 62,572.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Army reorganisation in Morocco is the most expensive artwork by John Evan Hodgson that we have observed at auctions so far.
