In the PROPERTY FROM THE ESTATE OF DORIS MERRILL MAGOWAN auction, the work Lilies, Hollyhocks, Roses and other Flowers in a Glass Vase on a Stone Ledge; and Red and Yellow Roses, Peonies, Lilac and other Flowers in a Glass Vase on a Stone Column changed hands for USD 1,195.00 (€ 1,279.58) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John E. Nicholls - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flower Piece, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,940.42).
