In August 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A Young Girl Dressed As A Jester by John Bernard Munns. The price achieved of GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,768.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A Young Girl Dressed As A Jester is the most expensive artwork by John Bernard Munns that we have observed at auctions so far.
