Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Ace of Clubs by John Bellany was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. The price achieved of GBP 5,120.00 (€ 5,973.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Bellany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fishermen In The Snow in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 125,364.55).

Die Arbeit The Ace of Clubs von John Bellany wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.120,00 (€ 5.973,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Bellany erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fishermen In The Snow im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 106.250,00 (€ 125.364,55).
