Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Turf Cutter 31 cm. (12 1/8 in.) high (excluding the base) by John Behan was sold in the The Irish SaleVision & Voice auction at Bonhams in Dublin in November this year. The price achieved of EUR 3,840.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Behan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Blackrock Bull in May 2013 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,767.46).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.840,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Behan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Blackrock Bull im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 27.767,46).
