Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Masters Online, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, Half Length, Wearing A Purple Dress, A Black Lace Choker, A Pearl Necklace And Flowers In Her Hair by John Astley. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,802.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Astley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of A Lady, Bust-Length, In An Elaborate Red Dress With Ermine Trim, With A White Lace Ruff, And Pearls In Her Hair, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 22,230.95).

Im Februar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Masters Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Half Length, Wearing A Purple Dress, A Black Lace Choker, A Pearl Necklace And Flowers In Her Hair von John Astley zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.802,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00.
