Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Anderson could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES auction, the work 'Cornfield', Corley, near Coventry changed hands for GBP 940.00 (€ 1,517.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Anderson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Through Red Hill, which sold at auction in August 2003 for AUD 6,462.50 (€ 3,817.73).
