Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Along the river in summer by Johannes Petrus van Velzen. It changed hands for a price of EUR 1,560.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,200.00 – 1,600.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Petrus van Velzen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Dutch tavern near the lake in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 8,225.00 (€ 12,722.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2006 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Along the river in summer von Johannes Petrus van Velzen zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 1.560,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.200,00 – 1.600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johannes Petrus van Velzen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Dutch tavern near the lake im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.225,00 (€ 12.722,21).
