Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Crayfish In A Porcelain Bowl, Oysters, A Partially Peeled Lemon, Plums In A Silver Dish, Two Glasses of Wine, A Bottle And A Glass With Flowers On Table by Johann Seitz was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2006. The price achieved of EUR 8,400.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Seitz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Crayfish and salmon in porcelain bowls, oysters, lemons, flowers in vases, fiaschi, knives and faon-de-Venise wine glasses on tables, which sold at auction in May 2000 for NLG 40,957.00 (€ 17,883.56).
