Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An Arcadian Landscape With A Gothic Church; An Arcadian Landscape With A Gothic Fortress: A Pair by Johann Nepomuk Schödlberger was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 35,000.00 (€ 28,662.68). Other works by Johann Nepomuk Schödlberger have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December last year by the work An Arcadian landscape with a fortress, and An Arcadian landscape with a church (2) at GBP 25,500.00 (€ 28,787.02).

Als die Arbeit An Arcadian Landscape With A Gothic Church; An Arcadian Landscape With A Gothic Fortress: A Pair von Johann Nepomuk Schödlberger im Februar 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 35.000,00 (€ 28.662,68) den Besitzer.
