Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,078.17). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Mongels Culverhouse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Skaters On A Dutch Waterway, which sold at auction in March 2006 for GBP 10,200.00 (€ 14,614.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Selling refreshments on the ice von Johann Mongels Culverhouse wurde im September 2012 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.078,17) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Mongels Culverhouse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Skaters On A Dutch Waterway beobachtet, die im März 2006 für GBP 10.200,00 (€ 14.614,76) versteigert wurde.
