In March 2017 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work The Flight into Egypt by Johann Michael Wittmer the Younger. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,789.26), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Michael Wittmer the Younger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ein Fest in Konstantinopel, which sold at auction in November this year for EUR 24,130.00.

Im März 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Flight into Egypt von Johann Michael Wittmer the Younger zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.789,26) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Michael Wittmer the Younger mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ein Fest in Konstantinopel beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für EUR 24.130,00 versteigert wurde.
