In the 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Pictures auction, the work A Swiss alpine lake changed hands for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,026.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Joseph Geisser - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Matterhorn, which sold at auction in June 2006 for CHF 12,000.00 (€ 7,667.27).
