Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,077.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Heinrich Tischbein the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Countess Augusta von Reuss-Ebersdorf And Lobenstein, Half-Length, As Artemisia, which sold at auction in May 2006 for EUR 34,800.00.
