The work Mirtillo playing Blindman's buff with Amarillis; and The crowning of Mirtillo by Johann Heinrich Keller was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2001. The price achieved of USD 17,625.00 (€ 19,598.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Mirtillo playing Blindman's buff with Amarillis; and The crowning of Mirtillo is the most expensive artwork by Johann Heinrich Keller that we have observed at auctions so far.
