Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Deux femmes en robe classique by Johann Friedrich Matthäi for EUR 235.00. This price was achieved in the auction DESSINS ET TABLEAUX ANCIENS ET DU 19EME at Christies in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Friedrich Matthäi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a young lady with a red shawl, standing by a balcony in December 2003 with an auction result of EUR 8,962.50.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Deux femmes en robe classique von Johann Friedrich Matthäi für EUR 235,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion DESSINS ET TABLEAUX ANCIENS ET DU 19EME bei Christies in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Friedrich Matthäi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a young lady with a red shawl, standing by a balcony im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.962,50.
