The work Peasants On A Road By A River In A Rhenish Landscape by Johann Christian Vollerdt was sold in the Old Masters Online | Part I: Property from the SØR Rusche Collection | Part II: Property from Various Owners auction at Sothebys in London in September 2019. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,359.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johann Christian Vollerdt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A River Landscape With Figures On The Bank And Sheep Grazing; A River Landscape With Fishermen Dredging A Weir in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 44,612.14).
