Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Sale, which included the work A Village Kermesse With Figures Dancing by Johann Christian Vollerdt. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,374.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johann Christian Vollerdt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A River Landscape With Figures On The Bank And Sheep Grazing; A River Landscape With Fishermen Dredging A Weir in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 44,612.14).
