A top price for Johann Anton Ramboux - as previously expected
The work Double Portrait of the Painter Konrad Eberhard and his Brother Franz by Johann Anton Ramboux was sold in the Old Master Prints auction at Christies in New York in January 2019. The price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 54,566.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Double Portrait of the Painter Konrad Eberhard and his Brother Franz is the most expensive artwork by Johann Anton Ramboux that we have observed at auctions so far.
