This work of art by Johan Frederik Cornelis Scherrewitz could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime Art auction, the work Landing The Day'S Catch changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,561.82) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johan Frederik Cornelis Scherrewitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shellfishers in the breakers in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 188,000.00 (€ 86,288.48).
