Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Johan Altorf achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2015. In the Modern Art auction, the work Seated monkey sold for EUR 18,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johan Altorf have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An owl in June 2000 with an auction result of NLG 222,338.00 (€ 94,875.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Johan Altorf erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Seated monkey für EUR 18.750,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 9.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johan Altorf auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An owl im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 222.338,00 (€ 94.875,08).
