This artwork by Johan Christian Roedig achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2005. In the Old Master Pictures auction, the work Grapes, cherries, plums, peaches, walnuts and a melon in a porcelain bowl on a partly-draped ledge with a halved peach and two snails sold for GBP 24,000.00 (€ 34,834.66) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Johan Christian Roedig; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Still Life With Peaches, Grapes, Plums, A Melon, Cherries, Walnuts, Chestnuts On A Wan-Li Porcelain Plate, Together With Two Snails On A Marble Ledge, Draped With A Blue Cloth sold at auction in December 2009 with the realized price of EUR 54,750.00.
