Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in New York held the auction A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part II, which included this untitled work by Joan Mitchell. It changed hands for a price of USD 756,000.00 (€ 709,592.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Mitchell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November this year with an auction result of USD 29,160,000.00 (€ 26,732,673.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part II durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Joan Mitchell zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 756.000,00 (€ 709.592,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Mitchell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 29.160.000,00 (€ 26.732.673,27).
