In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Spanish sixteen Costumbrista Scenes With Spanish Folkloric Types sold for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,299.44) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jenaro Pérez Villaamil have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spanish 42 Views Of Spanish Towns Including Toledo, Seville, Córdoba, Oviedo And Granada, Mounted In A 19Th Century Ebonised Gothic Two-Fold Screen in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 121,250.00 (€ 138,649.75).
