Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Blossoms by Jeffrey Makin was sold in the Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II auction at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006. The price achieved of AUD 4,182.50 (€ 2,515.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,500.00 – 5,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jeffrey Makin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Aroona Sisters, which sold at auction in November 2000 for AUD 15,275.00 (€ 9,245.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Blossoms von Jeffrey Makin wurde im April 2006 in der Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.182,50 (€ 2.515,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.500,00 – 5.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jeffrey Makin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Aroona Sisters beobachtet, die im November 2000 für AUD 15.275,00 (€ 9.245,12) versteigert wurde.
