Sold at the lower estimate price
In April 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings, which included the work A Mountainous Landscape, With A View Of Pheneos And The Temple Of Minerva Caphyes by Jean-Victor Bertin. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,700.87) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Victor Bertin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Ruins Of The Bridge Of Augustus At Narni, which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 92,500.00 (€ 67,444.40).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Mountainous Landscape, With A View Of Pheneos And The Temple Of Minerva Caphyes von Jean-Victor Bertin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.700,87) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-Victor Bertin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Ruins Of The Bridge Of Augustus At Narni beobachtet, die im Januar 2011 für USD 92.500,00 (€ 67.444,40) versteigert wurde.
