Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Elevation Of The Façade Of A Roman Palace by Jean-Thomas Thibault was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 763.75 (€ 1,243.71). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Thomas Thibault achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Place De La Concorde Avec La Statue De La Liberté Au Centre; Et La Place De La Concorde Prise Depuis L'Esplanade De L'Hôtel De Saint-Florentin in April 2013 with an auction result of EUR 187,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Elevation Of The Façade Of A Roman Palace von Jean-Thomas Thibault im Juli 2001 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 763,75 (€ 1.243,71) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Thomas Thibault erzielen.
