Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work 'Le Singe Antiquaire' by Jean Siméon Chardin for USD 241,000.00 (€ 162,387.98). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Siméon Chardin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Basket Of Wild Strawberries in March last year with an auction result of EUR 24,381,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit 'Le Singe Antiquaire' von Jean Siméon Chardin für USD 241.000,00 (€ 162.387,98) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Siméon Chardin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Basket Of Wild Strawberries im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 24.381.400,00.
