Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,550,000.00 (€ 2,119,700.75). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Siméon Chardin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Basket Of Wild Strawberries in March last year with an auction result of EUR 24,381,400.00.

Die Arbeit A Mallard And A Bitter Orange von Jean Siméon Chardin wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Old Masters bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 2.500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.550.000,00 (€ 2.119.700,75) einen neuen Besitzer.
