This artwork by Jean Royère achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in December 2006. In the Design & Design Art auction, the work Pair of “Sphère” table lamps sold for USD 54,000.00 (€ 40,918.39) - well above the upper estimate of USD 28,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Royère achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'OURS POLAIRE' SOFA, CIRCA 1952 in November this year with an auction result of USD 945,000.00 (€ 866,336.63).
