Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES AND OBJECTS OF VERTU, which included the work A Gentleman, Called Prince de Condé, In Black Cloak And White White Lace Collar, Small Moustache And Long Dark Curling Hair by Jean Petitot the Younger. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,140.00 (€ 1,653.56) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Petitot the Younger achieve.
