Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work Country folk by a river by Jean-Louis de Marne. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 16,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,886.88). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Louis de Marne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Travelling peasants with their cattle and sheep in a landscape; and Figures with animals outside an inn beside a wheat field, which sold at auction in January 2005 for USD 72,000.00 (€ 55,176.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Country folk by a river von Jean-Louis de Marne zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 16.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.886,88) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean-Louis de Marne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Travelling peasants with their cattle and sheep in a landscape; and Figures with animals outside an inn beside a wheat field beobachtet, die im Januar 2005 für USD 72.000,00 (€ 55.176,64) versteigert wurde.
