Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An interior with Empire furniture and blue hyacinths by Jean Leonard Koechlin-Schwartz was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 430.37). Other works by Jean Leonard Koechlin-Schwartz have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2011 by the work Musée Rodin, Paris at GBP 500.00 (€ 573.82).
